Training

DM Cultural Services, Ltd. offers training in all aspects of historical, anthropological, and archival research. We also offer general orientations to archaeological methods and research, particularly when looking for existing archaeological information from completed studies.

We tailor our training programs and workshops to your needs and design all of our training packages around you. Examples of past training programs and workshops include:

  • Traditional Use Study research, including interview and field research training
  • Week-long visits to the Provincial Archives in Victoria. These trips can include investigations at other Victoria and Vancouver information storehouses like the Surveyor General or the Royal BC Museum
  • Records management, particularly where establishing and maintaining community-based archives are concerned
  • Database training for managing archival records, site surveys, and traditional use information

We can also help facilitate research excursions to places like the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, which has a library devoted to aboriginal rights and title in B.C.
